IMD forecasts heavy rain

Imphal, July 07 2024: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, across Northeast India until July 11 .

Moreover, isolated heavy rainfall is expected over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura on July 8 and 9 .

Residents are advised to stay cautious and take necessary precautions during this period.

Mention may be made that, IMD, in its special bulletin on June 28, forecast very heavy rainfall for five days with orange alert in Senapati and Ukhrul district.

Due to the heavy rainfall, several parts of Imphal valley area faced flood as rivers got overflowed and banks breached in multiple areas.
