Man shot, abandoned at Yairipok Pechi

Imphal, October 06 2024: Unknown armed persons shot a man on the right and left thighs and abandoned the injured at Yairipok Peehi Khongnagnkhong under Yairipok police station in Thoubal district at about 4.30 pm Sunday.

The injured man has been identified as Romario Khoinaijam, son of Romio of Heingang Mayai Leikai.

Romario was pumped one bullet each on both legs.

The assailant's reportedly brought Romario at the spot and abandoned him after the shooting.

Locals and a team of Yairipok PS picked up Romario and provided first aid at CHC Yairipok before referring to Shija Hospitals for further treatment.

Sources informed that Romario was taken captive by an armed group in July in connection with women-related issues but released after interrogation and stern warning.

However, no group has claimed the shooting till the time of filing of this report.
