Imphal, March 06 2025:
The Socialist Student's Union of Manipur (SSUM) has asserted that the Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BOSEM) and Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM) should be held responsible for the recent case of question paper leak during Class X and XII examinations.
A press release issued by Thiyam Bikash Luwang, general secretary, SSUM has stated that as per examination rules, the seal holding the question papers should be broken before the SOs, ASOs and OCs.
Considering this factor, SSUM has questioned why the seal was broken before time.
It went on to question if BOSEM and COHSEM were sincere in the selection of SOs and OCs.
Stating that BOSEM and COHSEM must be held accountable for this controversy, SSUM called for schools involved in the issue to be de-recognised.
It further said that if any Government teachers are found to be involved in the matter, then they should be promptly terminated.
Adding that both BOSEM and COHSEM are autonomous bodies that financially rely on parents and students for their functioning, SSUM has asserted that if they are incapable of selecting competent and honest SOs, OCs.
question setters and examiners, then the responsibility of conducting such important exams should be handed over to another competent authority.
