FOCS, other CSOs mull mass rally from March 8

Imphal, March 04 2025: Federation of Civil Society Organisations (FOCS), Manipur and its allied organisations will conduct a mass rally for peace and harmony from March 8 covering red zones where the Meetei community could not venture since May 3, 2023.Informing people about the rally during a press conference on Tuesday, FOCS president Th Manihar appealed all the indigenous communities of Manipur to join the mass rally.

He said that FOCS and its allied organisations numbering around 20 had threadbare discussion on Union home minister Amit Shah's announcement to ensure free movement along national highways from March 8 and accordingly decided to hold a mass rally for harmony from the same day.

The rally will cover areas designated as red zones where the Meeteis could not access sirice outbreak of the conflict, he said.

According to Th Manihar, the mass rally will not only carry the message of peace and harmony but also tests Union government's sincerity and commitment to bring back peace and normalcy in the state.
