DMC distributes relief materials to relief camps

Imphal, June 03 2024: Dimapur Meitei Council, women's wing in coordination with Federation of Civil Society Organisations (FOCS) and Manipur Women Federation (MWF) donated cloths, edibles and money to residents of relief camps.

According to a statement of FOCS, women's wing of Dimapur Meitei Council (DMC) visited relief camps set up in different parts of Manipur where people affected by the ongoing violence are being sheltered and extended help including cash.

Regarding distribution of relief materials, DMC president Sunita Wahengbam said Meeteis settled outside Manipur are unable to live in calm when the state's denizens are suffering.

Relief materials brought and donated by DMC to relief camps are not enough but it shows the love and care of the Meeteis settling outside for Kanglei people, she said adding that suffering of the Kanglei people will be made known to Meeteis settled in Dimapur after the DMC team returns.

Relief materials and cash were distributed to residents of Yaima model girl's high school of Kumbi, Kwakta sericulture relief camp and Akampat relief camps.
