Noney, May 03 2025:
In a commendable initiative promoting community service and environmental consciousness, the Sangrung (Khongsang) Village Welfare Association and Labour Union organised a massive cleanliness drive at Khongsang Railway Station in Noney district on Saturday.
The campaign, conducted in collaboration with the station superintendent, Sinreap Gangmei, and his team, aimed to raise public awareness of hygiene, cleanliness, and civic responsibility.
Highlighting the vision behind the initiative, Gonglinlung Phaomei, president of the association, stated: "Our goal is to raise awareness and inspire collective action.
Clean public spaces are a reflection of a responsible society".
Station superintendent Sinreap expressed his appreciation to the participants.
"By taking ownership of public spaces and encouraging community participation, initiatives like this remind us that real change begins with both individual and collective efforts", he said.
Volunteers from the association - including church elders, community leaders, students, professionals, and local residents - assembled at the station early in the morning, equipped with cleaning tools and protective gear.
Over several hours, they thoroughly cleaned the station platform, surrounding premises, and nearby areas, removing litter, debris, undergrowth, and other waste materials.
