RK Meghen urges leaders to nurture unity amid crisis

Political leaders and civil society organisations (CSOs) guiding communities in the right direction must reflect on their actions amid the ongoing crisis in Manipur, with many involving in conflicts with one another and even creating divisions within the same communities.
They risk being viewed negatively by the public, stated former UNLF chairman RK Meghen.
The former UNLF chairman was speaking on the occasion of the 28th Death Anniversary of Samom Kirti alias Ito where floral tributes were offered as a mark of respect at the memorial site at Kangmong Maisnam Leikai.
RK Meghen recounted the early life and contributions of Kirti to the motherland.
He described Kirti as someone who had done much good for society, stating "he was a courageous and perseverant individual who stood by his words".
Meghan reminded the gathering that Kirti's life was cut short in a tragic incident, calling it deeply unfortunate".
The event was organised by 28th Death Anniversary Observation Committee at Kangmong Maisnam Leikai.
