Awareness on menace of substance abuse begins

Bishnupur, October 27 2024: A five-day awareness and education programme on drug addiction and substance abuse organised under the joint aegis of Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), Bishnupur and KYC, Keinou Thongkha Youth Club commenced on Sunday.

Inauguration function of the programme held at Loyalakpa community hall, Keinou was attended by NYK Bishnupur deputy director Dr Salam Dhana Singh, New Life Foundation secretary Dr Lamabam Pishak Singh and Keinou High School retired teacher Ahongshangbam Sanajaoba Singh as presidium members.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Pishak stressed that as students and youth are expected to play a vital role in developing and strengthening the society, they should be prevented from falling prey to substance abuse in order to build a healthy and progressive community.

Similarly, Dr Salam Dhana, called upon all, including students, to strive for the growth and advancement of the society, which would be a reality when students stay away from drugs.
