Imagi Meira warns of intense protest

Imphal, February 27 2025: Since a new government cannot be formed to restore peace and normalcy in the state, Imagi Meira has cautioned of launching intense protest along with the people, while insisting that the 50 MLAs and the president of BJP Manipur Pradesh should be held responsible for any resulting consequences.

In a press meet held at Thangjing hall of Manipur Press Club here on Thursday, Imagi Meira secretary Khoirom Sunita said that BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda was given a seven-day deadline to select a new leader and form the government.

However, no action has been taken up till date.

The party then notified a meeting of ruling MLAs which was cancelled at the last minute.

This is simply mocking the people and an attempt to divert the issue.

Representative of Imagi Meira met the BJP Manipur Pradesh president again on Thursday but only received a response of "efforts are being made".

The representatives were also told "not to join politics", she conveyed.

Stating that the ruling party should stop taking the mothers of the state lightly in their greed for power amid the troubling situation in the state, Sunita said that it is time for the people to come together.

She urged the mothers of the state to be prepared to agitate together with the people, while cautioning that any resulting consequences would be the responsibility of the BJP Manipur Pradesh.
