NSCN-IM bars below-rate bidding in projects

Imphal, October 26 2024: NSCN-IM has issued a notification cautioning contractors and firms working in Naga areas against bidding below the scheduled rate for developmental projects.

The directive stated that contractors who submit below-rate quotations often compensate through cost-cutting, which impacts the quality and durability of projects.

The notification, issued in accordance with its meeting resolution no 5 from a joint council meeting held on October 1, mandated that no work orders shall be awarded at rates below those quoted in tenders.

NSCN-IM stressed the need for strict adherence to this policy, asserting that it serves the best interests of the Naga people by ensuring that development projects meet the required standards.

Manipulation of project bids, according to NSCN-IM, jeopardises the intended quality and sustainability of infrastructure and other public works.

Contractors and firms in Naga areas are urged to comply with the directive to maintain integrity in development initiatives, it added.
