Imphal, July 26 2024:
Officer-in-charge of Jiribam police station Ibotombi Sagapam has announced that his monthly salary for one year will be donated to help people displaced by the ongoing violence in Jiribam district.
Ibotombi made the announcement through his facebook account on Friday evening and appealed to the suffering people to communicate with him through mobile No 9862687718 for help.
In a telephonic conversation, Ibotombi Sagapam informed The People's Chronicle that he has been discharging duty lawfully as a police officer and will continue to do so.
"Many people of Jiribam district displaced by the ongoing violence are suffering and their requirements are being provided from my side since the day I took charge of OC," he said adding that he got emotional on seeing conditions of displaced people living in relief camps and donated money from his pocket for the suffering people in the past too.
Notably, Ibotombi donated 60 electric fans for those residing in relief camps in Jiribam on Thursday so that they could get some relief from the heat wave currently sweeping the district.
