Imphal, August 22 2024: National Service Scheme (NSS) Cell of Manipur University in association with Lions Club of Canchipur Palace, MU NSS Unit 3 and Department of Forestry and Environmental Science organised a mass tree plantation programme under the theme 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam: Plant For Mother' at the university campus on Thursday.

MU VC Prof N Lokendra distributed around 400 tree saplings and launched the programme by planting a sapling in front of the office of NSS Cell.

Meanwhile, around 100 saplings were planted cover an area of 50 sq m at Tangjeng Maril, located on the north of main gate of MUj which was named Mantri Van by NSS Cell.

Altogether 25 officials and 100 volunteers participated in the programme.
