Imphal, February 20 2025: Manipur State Power Distribution Company Limited (MSPDCL) officials conducted raids in different areas and apprehended 45 people on the charge of power theft and other malpractices on Wednesday and Thursday.

In a release, MSPDCL general manager (commercial) Ng Kirankumar said that nine persons from areas under Lilong sub-division; six under Yairipok sub-division; five under Sugnu sub-division; four under Wangkhei sub-division; three under Bishnupur sub-division; and two each from areas under Lamphel-I sub-division and central sub-division-II were apprehended for power theft.

Moreover, connection with 15 consumers were disconnected for failure to clear outstanding electricity bill, he added.
