AR conducts health camp, awareness lecture on lifestyle diseases

As part of its continued commitment to the well-being ofborder communities, Assam Rifles conducted a comprehensive community outreach initiative in the form of a medical camp in Chandel district on 19 April.
The initiative undertaken also included an awareness lecture on "Lifestyle Diseases", said a press note issued by IGAR (S).
The camp aimed to provide essential healthcare services to residents of the remote region, where access to basic medical infrastructure is limited.
The Assam Rifles health officials and staff attended to the health needs of senior citizens, women and children, offering consultations, basic diagnostics and medicines.
Special focus was laid on disease prevention, hygiene and nutrition through a counselling session.
A total of 85 villagers benefited from the camp, which concluded with refreshments for all participants.
Meanwhile, at Sehlon village, Assam Rifles conducted an awareness programme on lifestyle diseases, addressing rising concerns related to hypertension, diabetes, obesity and heart disease.
The session highlighted the importance of a balanced diet, regular physical activity, yoga and conscious lifestyle choices while discouraging tobacco and alcohol use.
An interactive segment allowed villagers to engage directly with the medical team, seek clarifications and discuss personal health issues.
The session was attended by 135 villagers.
