Public lecture on Viksit Bharat held

A public lecture programme on the topic "Social Transformation and Viksit Bharat" was organised by College Development Council at Manipur University (MU) Court Hall on Tuesday.
The programme, participated by principals of various colleges under MU, was held with Prajna Pravah national convenor J Nandakumar and MU vice chancellor Professor N Lokendra as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Professor.
Lokendro noted significant changes in the lifestyles of the Indian people over the past 15 years, attributing such transformation to empowerment of various lower caste and tribal communities across the country.
He further pointed out that India's economy has seen marked improvement during this period whereas economy of even advanced European nations contracted by 5 percent.
At present, India's economy fluctuate between 6.3 and 6.9 percent growth, he said, explaining that the progression is largely due to strengthening and integration of domestic markets, with the middle-class population playing a crucial role.
