Kakching, November 11 2024: Observance function of the International Day of Older Persons was organised by Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) Cell, District Health Society (DHS), Chandel at District Hospital, Chandel on Monday.

The commemorative event organised on the theme "Aging with Dignity: The importance of strengthening care and support systems for older persons worldwide", was attended by Chandel chief medical officer Dr Joyson Matthew Monsang, District Hospital medical superintendent Dr Serbum Shakchung and National Programme for Health Care of the Elderly (NPHCE) district nodal officer Dr Makunga Joycee Maring as chief guest, guest of honour and president respectively.

The district health Society distributed blankets to about 30 older persons on the occasion.
