Kakching, March 11 2025: Amom Isheihanbi Devi and Amom Momon Devi, both from Wangoo Laipham, were felicitated by people of Wangoo on Tuesday on winning gold medals at the 45th National Masters Athletic Championship 2025.The championship was organised by Master Athletics Federation of India at Shree Kanteerva Stadium, Bengaluru and SAI Bengaluru, Karnataka from March 4 to 9 .

In the championship, Isheihanbi won gold medals in 100m, 200m, 400m, 4X400m relay and 4*100m relay races in 70 years and above women category, while A Momon bagged gold medals in 4X400m and 4x100m relay races and a bronze medal in 400m race in 75 years and above category.

The two athletes were accorded warm welcome by LYA, Wangoo and Wangoo denizens from Tampha Lairembi Haraobung Wangoo till the felicitation programme held at Wangoo Laipham community hall.

They were presented garlands, stoles and gifts enroute to the community hall.

The function was attended by Wangoo Gram Panchayet Administrative Committee chairman Laishram Deben; ex-pradhan Loitongbam Sharat alias Tona Meitei; Senior Citizen, Wangoo Loitongbam Ksherchandra, husbands of the two athletes Amom Thopa and Amom Ishingjaoba and public.
