Illicit liquor worth 2.4 L seized

Noney, July 09 2025: An escort team of Noney police station officer-in-charge led by head constable Gaikhangkhuan seized 1200 litres of distilled illicit country (DIC) liquor worth around Rs 2,40,000 in the local market, during random frisking and checking at Makhuam-4 waiting shed area along NH-37 on Tuesday around 9:30 pm .

The liquor consignment was recovered from a Bolero camper.

(AS11EC-4401) driven by one Dithaipou Gonmei (35), son of Gaidim Gonmei of Sonram A/P Powerhouse.

Tamenglong, along with one passenger Lumnulung Kamei (20), son of Chamgailung Kamei of Kaikao village, A/P Apollo Bazar Tamenglong.

The seized liquor and the accused persons have been handed over to excise department, Noney for further action.
