Imphal, March 08 2025:
The Imphal-Pangei Road Joint Development Committee (IPRJDC) has submitted a memorandum to the Governor highlighting the deplorable condition of the Imphal-Pangei Road.
In the memorandum the IPRJDC said that the Imphal-Pangei Road, which is a State Highway, is a very important route linking different Government Departments, educational and para medical institutions, particularly Sainik School Imphal and Manipur Police Training Centre, Pangei along with State Force Battalion & Forensic Science Department.
"This Road is presently in a deplorable condition thereby causing dangerous accidents and loss of human lives.
Dust particles are spreading at a large scale resulting in a health- hazardous environment", it added.
The Committee also pointed out that despite repeated appeals to the Government and relevant departments, there has been no positive action for the last decade.
"In view of the facts stated above and nature of urgency, the Governor is cordially requested with folded hands to interfere into the matter and order for black-topping work of the Imphal-Pangei Road at the earliest, in the best interest of the public", said IPRJDC.
