Sensitisation programme for weavers, artisans and entrepreneurs held

With the aim to apprise various schemes launched by the Government for the welfare of weavers/artisans and entrepreneurs and to impart financial literacy, the Department of Handloom and Handicrafts, Govt of Manipur conducted a sensitisation programme for weavers/artisans and entrepreneurs of the district at Thoubal Mela Ground today.
The event was attended by Divisional Forest Officer, Thoubal Dr L Jecceellee, District Handloom and Handicrafts Thoubal, Project Manager Handloom, N Nungshi Devi, Directorate of Handloom and Handicrafts, Deputy Director.
Th Basanta Singh, District Industries Centre Thoubal, Gen Manager, Soibam Nabakumar Singh, State Bank of India, Thoubal, Lead District Manager, Dr Meitra Uttam Luwang, India Post Payment Bank Imphal Branch, Gen Manager, Poonam Yadav and HDFC Bank Thoubal branch, Branch Manager, Wahengbam Done Singh as presidium members.
Speaking at the event, Th Basanta Singh, Deputy Director of Department of Handloom and Handicrafts said that even though there have been various schemes launched by the Department of Handloom and Handicrafts for the weavers and artisans.
There are many additional schemes that can be availed by the weavers and artisans from the Department of Textile Commerce and Industry, Banks, Forest, etc.
To make aware of the schemes and to avail the benefits of schemes, such a sensitisation program was organised by the Department in collaboration with other departments, said Basanta.
