Army 'commander' meets students, villagers

Imphal, July 03 2024:
Indian Army organised "A Day with Company Commander" at Keihao, Kangpokpi district on Wednesday.
The interactive event brought together 83 students of Don Bosco School, children of villages neighbouring Keihao, and 28 local guardians and teachers.
The event was organised to foster a sense of camaraderie, encourage team spirit and raise awareness about the Indian Army.
According to PRO Defence, Havildar AS Daniel (retired), a Kargil War veteran of 2 Naga Regiment of the Indian Army, also attended the event and shared his experience of fighting the adversaries on the icy peaks of Kargil with the children and motivated them to join the Indian Army.
During the event, students participated in an array of activities, including tug of war, football, volleyball, and musical chairs, displaying their skills and competitive spirit.
As a run-up to the Kargil Vijay Diwas on July 26, the company commander delivered a lecture highlighting the courage and valour displayed by Indian Army in the Kargil War.
A documentary on 'The Heroes of Kargil' was also shown to the children.
The event concluded with distribution of prizes to the students for their active participation and felicitation of the Kargil War veteran, added the PRO in a release.
