ICHAM prez extends aid to 9-year old kidney patient

Imphal, June 02 2022:
Nongthombam Rajendro alias Boy, ICHAM president and younger brother of Chief Minister N Biren, extended necessary assistance to 9-year-old Oinam Sana of Hiyanglam Hiranmei, whose right kidney is not functioning properly.
An ambulance will take Sana to JNIMS on Friday so as to commence her treatment.
Sana, who is studying in Class-I at Lamjao Universal Academy, is the youngest of five siblings, whose father Amujao, an excavator (JCB) operator, passed away in an accident in 2014 and their mother Inaotombi succumbed to cancer in 2020.The eldest, Oinam Dinaraj (24), is trying his level best to take care of his siblings with whatever job/work he could find.
As Sana's right kidney is no longer functioning properly, she has been bedridden and treatment delayed due to financial issues.
Thus, her brother appealed for help on social media platforms, consequently evoking positive response from different quarters.
The locals have also been extending help to the five siblings, who are living in an old shed left behind by their parents.
After hearing the plight of the siblings including the doctor's advice for removing Sana's right kidney before it infects other vital parts, Rajendro visited the family on Thursday and assured of extending all possible help.
He contacted the director of JNIMS for commencing her treatment.
In this regard, Rajendro informed that the CM had instructed him to help the family after informed of their condition.
Thus, an ambulance will be dispatched from JNIMS on Friday to take bring the 9-year-old girl for treatment at the hospital.
Additionally, after Sana's operation is completed, a new house for the family will be constructed, for which Kakching DC and the local MLA have been informed.
The government is always ready to help people who are in urgent need, he said, while urging the general populace to extend wherever help they could, as well.
