Imphal, August 29 2024: The newly elected office bearers of Manipur University Students' Union (MUSU) were felicitated during a function organised by MUSU Election 2024-25 Monitoring Committee at the MU Senate Hall, on Thursday.

Speaking at the event, convenor Ngariyanbam Milan recounted that the Monitoring Committee was constituted in the 2011-12 academic session by eight student bodies to oversee conduct of elections of student organisations at colleges and higher educational institutions in a peaceful and orderly manner.

Stating that the committee frames the code of conduct for student body elections as and when needed, he also declared the Monitoring Committee of MUSU election 2024-25, which ensured conduct of the election in a peaceful manner on July 23 shall be dissolved as per the norms.

After the felicitation ceremony, the newly elected office bearers of seven key posts of MUSU and class representatives of 42 departments, were administered oath of office and secrecy by MU vice chancellor Prof N Lokendro.
