Fit India Run held in Kakching district

Kakching, October 27 2024: The formal function of the 5th edition of Fit India Swachhta Freedom Run for Kakching district took place on Sunday at Kakching Chumnang Leikai indoor stadium under the theme Swachh Bharat Swasth Bharat.

The event was organised by District Youth Affairs and Sports, Kakching, in collaboration with the Khelo India Centre, Kakching (Badminton and Wushu) .

The 5-km run was flagged off by district youth affairs and sports officer Ng Sunita Chanu.

Around 52 students from various schools across Kakching district participated in the run along with staff of the district youth affairs and sports office and officials from the Khelo India Centre, Kakching.

It is noteworthy that the Fit India Movement, launched on August 29, 2019, by the Prime Minister, aims to make fitness an integral part of daily life.

The mission of the movement is to foster behavioural change and promote a shift towards a more physically active lifestyle.
