Workshop on effective functioning of NGOs-run libraries held

Imphal, October 26 2024: State Central Library Imphal under department of art and culture organised a workshop on effective functioning of NGOs-run library' at the central library audi torium located at Nityaipat Chuthek here on Saturday.

The workshop was attended by art and culture commissioner M Joy as chief guest, state central library Imphal chief librarian Rk Urmila Devi as president and art and culture deputy director G Dharmadas Sharma as guest of honour.

Speaking at the programme, M Joy highlighted the need of NGOs and voluntary organisations for maintaining transparency and accountability.

Organisations should also be aware of grants and facilities available through registration on NGO Darpan, an initiative by NITI Aayog.

The workshop will make NGOs-run library a full-fledged one, he continued, while urging all to spread awareness about the benefits of library in every nook and corner of the state.
