Manipur police sign MoU on pay package

Manipur Police Department has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the State Bank of India at the DGP's office in Babupara on Thursday, in connection with the police salary package account for providing assistance to police personnel in times of injury or illness.
The MoU was signed by IGP (administration) K Jayanta and SBI Regional Business Office Imphal regional manager Khumukcham Okendra Singh in the presence of DGP Rajiv Singh, top police officers and SBI officials.
Under this package, police personnel who die while on duty will receive Rs 85 lakh, while those left with permanent disability due to injury on duty will receive Rs 74 lakh or Rs 55 lakh in case of partial disability.
Insurance providing accident coverage of Rs 75 lakh is also included under the package.
Once this package comes into effect, around 18,000 police personnel who have accounts in SBI will avail the opportunity.
The MoU will provide additional financial support to the state police personnel and further motivate them in performing their duty.
Also, this will help improve the relationship between the police department and SBI on top of the police personnel availing the special salary package, insurance benefits and others.
