Kakching, February 24 2025: A seminar on 'empowerment of women' was held at the science seminar hall of United College, Lambung in Chandel district on Saturday under the aegis Lambung principal Dr Bd Thumdal and Internal Complaint Cell (ICC) of the college.

The seminar was attended by teachers, non-teaching staff and students of the college besides invitees including Supreme Court senior advocate BP Sahu.

In his address, BP Sahu said establishing internal complaint committees (ICC) or cells in workplaces, universities and colleges is essential to address sexual harassment complaints.

Stressing the importance of women's empowerment and to prioritise education for the girl child, he stated that non-governmental organisations, social media platforms and media can play a pivotal role in realisation of the objective As a part of the programme, the resource person also deliberated and cleared on inquiries on the seminar's theme.
