Scribes sensitised on TB Mukt Bharat

Aimed at creating mass awareness on elimi nation of Tuberculosis (TB) from the country, the District Health Society and National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme, Chandel jointly organised a media sensitization programme on 'Janbhagidari for TB Mukt Bharat' on Monday.
District TB officer in-charge Dr Tongen Reol told participants of the programme held at District Tuberculosis Centre (DTBC) that the target set for elimination of TB from the world is 2030 but Prime Minister Narendra Modi is targeting TB-free India by 2025 .
To achieve this goal, Chandel district joins the nationwide campaign and successfully completed 100 days TB campaign from December, 2024 to March, 2025 .
During the campaign, blood samples from 583 individuals residing in TB vulnerable areas were collected as part of preventive measures with 21 samples found positive.
Those infected were provided medicines, treatment and food supplements, the officer continued, adding that the media sensitisation programme is being held to create more awareness.
On the other hand, Chandel CMO Dr Joyson Mathew Monsang and Dr Tongen Reol distributed food baskets to TB patients of the district under Ni-kshay Poshan Yojana (NPY) .
