DMU fetes Dr Arambam Noni

Academic Research Forum and Department of Philosophy of Dhanamanjuri University (DMU) oh Thursday jointly organised a felicitation function for Dr Arambam Noni, who attended the 3rd Invited Lecture of ARF Lecture Series and the UNHRC meeting held at Geneva in Switzerland from September 9 to October 11 last year.
The felicitation function was held under the theme 'Impact of Globalisation on Manipuri Culture', at the auditorium of DM College of Arts, DMU.
Speaking on the occasion, DMU Political Science associate professor Dr Arambam Noni opined that the idea of forcefully establishing a new state on community line in a state inhabited by different indigenous communities is further fuelling the violence in the state.
In his speech as invited speaker MU former dean Prof Nabakumar stated that democracy is a political system for maintaining law and order.
"If different communities are to be considered, they are also a different type of political system," he added, noting that polity, industrial and technological revolution, and economic system are part of a culture.
The function was also attended by DMU Academic Research Forum president Prof S Lanchenba Meetei, School of Social Sciences dean Prof K Indramani Singh, DM College of Arts principal T Ranjit and DMU Department of Philosophy associate professor Dr Sarat Sharma as presidium members.
