House burnt to ashes in Kangpokpi village

Noney, January 22 2025: A seven-bedroom house belonging tn Lungaingam Gonmei, 64, of Pongringlong Part-2 village, under the jurisdiction of New Keithelmanbi Police Station in Kangpokpi district, was completely destroyed by fire.

The incident occurred at around 11:10 am on Wednesday, while all family members were away working in the fields.

It is suspected that the Are may have been caused by an electrical short circuit.

According to family sources, the estimated loss of property exceeds Rs 15 lakhs.

The structure, constructed with a combination of RCC and wooden materials, comprised seven bedrooms.

Upon the outbreak of the Are, residents of the village and neighbouring villagers rushed to the spot and contained the flames, preventing the Are from spreading to neighbouring homes.
