Imphal, November 21 2024: Indigenous People Forum, Manipur in association with the Tourism Department will organise the first 'Manipur Indigenous People's Cultural Expo-cum-Tourism Promotion Festival-2024' at Chadong village in Kamjong district from November 29-30.In a press meet held at the Department's Kabo Leikai office on Thursday, president Ashang Kasar informed that the festival will be hosted by the Forum on the theme of 'Manipur United by Diversity' .

A state-level committee has been formed along with a 26-27 member sub-commit-tee, which has already started preparation for the festival.

He continued that while some communities are trying to disrupt the unity and integrity of Manipur, the indigenous communities have no hatred and resentment against each other.

The age-old bonds continue to persist to this day and as such, appealed to all organisations, both in the hills and the valley, to support the festival.

He further appealed to all concerned not to impose any bandh or blockade during the festival period.
