MST offers full bus fare concession for IDPs

Imphal, August 21 2024: The Transport Department, Government of Manipur has issued a notification announcing a new policy for providing full concession on bus fares for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) using the Manipur State Transport (MST) bus services.

The initiative is said to have been designed to support those who have been displaced within the state.

According to the notification issued by transport director Dr Nivedita Lairenlakpam on Wednesday, in order to avail the fare concession, IDPs must present an identification card issued by the district administration to the MST bus conductors.

Conductors are to record the ID-card numbers of IDPs and submit these details to the manager of MST on a daily basis.
