Large cache of arms, explosives recovered in CCpur

Imphal, July 19 2025:
A large cache of arms, explosives and tactical gear was recovered by personnel of the 1st Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) during a cordon and search operation in and around Lamzang village in Churachandpur district on Saturday afternoon, officials said.
According to Churachandpur police, the recovery followed reliable information received on July 18 .
Acting on the input, officers and personnel of 1st IRB led by assistant commandant M Jacob Haokip launched a search operation in the area from 12:00 noon to 1:10 pm.
The team included subedar G Ginkhanlal, subedar Thangminlen Khongsai and jemadar Gin Gouthang.
Following the successful operation, the assistant commandant reported to Churachandpur Police Station at around 3:00 pm and handed over the seized items.
The seized items included one .303 Rifle (Mark-Ill) along with one empty magazine (Regd 21683F), one .32 Pistol (country made) along with one empty magazine (Engraved HTF-02421), one Single Barrel Rifle (country made), two Improvised Mortar (Pumpi), one improvised rocket bomb, 10 improvised mortar (Pumpi) rounds, three improvised hand grenades, nine tear smoke shells (wood piercing), 10 tear smoke shells soft nose (LR), four 38mm anti-riot rubber bullet, two tear smoke shells (normal), two bulletproof plates, six tactical vests, five cartridge belts of 12 Bore, four wireless communication sets (Baofeng), three wireless set chargers, three Boafeng wireless earpiece, and one pistol pouch.
