Imphal, February 15 2025:
Art and Culture commissioner M Joy has appealed to the public to offer all possible support to artistes who have been bringing us joy, even if temporarily, and are now facing significant hardships due to the ongoing violence in the state.
He made the statement during the music video album 'Yamna Lapna' release event held in connection with the 23rd anniversary of Ranbir Thouna's 'Talents of Ranbir' at KUMECS Cinema at Kakwa on Friday.
M Joy further stated that children have been the most affected by both the COVID-19 pandemic and the ongoing conflict in the state.
Additionally, the artiste community has also been severely impacted.
Although artistes consider their art, as their soul, many have been forced to take up other work to sustain their livelihoods.
He urged the public to extend all possible help to these artistes.
Renowned singer Ranbir Thouna highlighted that while the land holds art in high regard, artists' lives remain impoverished.
Some artistes are even compelled to sell their instruments.
He called on the authorities concerned to provide assistance to the artiste community.
The release event of the music video album, sponsored and partnered by Times Music, Witchcraft Studio, KUMECS Cinema, Tamna Mapao, Tamna Sang-gai Records, Exo Nutrition, and Singjamei 350, was attended by JNIMS medical superintendent Dr Lokeshwor and the lead roles of the newly released music video album, James Saikhom and Bonisana.
