Anurag Bajpai assumes charge as PCCF, HoFF

Anurag Bajpai, an officer of the Indian Forest Service (IFS) 1994 batch, has officially assumed the charge as Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) and Head of Forest Force (HoFF) of the state with effect from August 12, 2024 .
With over three decades of experience in diverse fields during his stints in institutions under central and state governments, including Manipur.
Bajpai is expected to bring expertise and leadership to the state's forest department.
According to a release issued by DFO, Central Forest Division, Bajpai's academic credentials include Master of Science (MSc) in Forestry, Master of Arts (MA) in Economics, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Management.
Before his current appointment, Bajpai held several positions across various ministries and had served as additional secretary and joint secretary in the department of defence production, where he was instrumental in advancing the nation's defence capabilities.
In Manipur, Bajpai held the post of additional principal chief conservator of forests (administration & planning) and chief conservator of forests (wildlife, environment & biodiversity), apart from contributing to the state's economic development as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Mission for Economic Empowerment of Traditional Artisans & Craftsmen (MEE-TAC) and actively involved in the department of textiles commerce & industry.
His diverse career also includes tenure as director (skills, women empowerment, finance, corporation) with additional responsibilities as joint secretary in the Ministry of minority affairs, and as director (NGO Division) in the Ministry of tribal affairs.
As the new PCCF and HoFF of Manipur, Bajpai is expected to lead the state's forest management efforts with a strong emphasis on sustainable development, biodiversity conservation, and the welfare of local communities dependent on forest resources.
His-leadership is anticipated to bring innovative solutions to the challenges facing Manipur's forests and wildlife, ensuring the protection and preservation of the state's rich natural heritage, underscored the release.
