Imphal, July 12 2024: Unknown armed miscreants shot a man on his leg near Zero Point Restaurant along the road leading to Lamphel Sanakeithel under Lamphel police station on Friday.

The injured man has been identified Wakambam Nelson alias Manaoba (26) s/o Nimaichand of Takyel Khongbal Mayai Leikai Thoudam Leirak.

According to a police report, a group of unknown armed persons, who came in a Bolero, shot Nelson on his right calf near Zero Point Restaurant around 2.30 pm.

After shooting Nelson, the assailants picked and seated him inside the Bolero, before dumping him at Shija Hospitals to seek medical treatment.

Nelson had left his home around 11am on Friday on his Vespa (MN06SA 8079), which has been taken away by armed assailants.

Meanwhile, a police team along with mobile forensic unit arrived at the shooting spot and inspected the scene.

Lamphel police has registered a case in this regard.
