Association reaches out to kids of deceased VDF

Kakching, March 09 2025:
Thoubal District VDF Welfare Association has extended financial assistance of Rs 2.5 lakh to the two children of late VDF personnel Laimayum Raju Singh (42), who passed away due to illness on February 26 .
Raju served as a VDF (VDF No.121) at the Nungei outpost in Wangjing.
He is survived by a son and a daughter.
Their mother had also passed away untimely few years ago.
The financial assistance of Rs 2.5 lakh, sourced from the District VDF Welfare Fund of Thoubal District VDF Welfare Association, was handed over to the children on March 7 by a team of Thoubal District VDF Welfare Association, led by Thoubal SP Shivanand Surve.
Thoubal additional SP (Law and Order) N Suraj Singh and other senior officers from the district police headquarters were also present.
The SP assured that the district police headquarters would provide further support as and when the need arises.
Meanwhile, Thoubal District VDF Welfare Association publicity secretary N Nabadip Meitei expressed gratitude to Thoubal SP Shivanand Surve and his subordinate officers for their support in organising the 16th Raising Day Celebration of the association on March 6.VDF Rajeshwor,who won the Bronze, Silver and Gold medals in the Karate event held during the Raising Day celebrations in 2020, 2021 and 2022 respectively, was also provided financial assistance from the District Welfare Fund.
