ITBP trooper dies, two injured in accident

Bishnupur, August 05 2024: A trooper of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) died and left two other personnel injured in an accident near Tronglaobi Keithel under Moirang police station in Bishnupur district on Monday afternoon.

The accident occurred around 3.50 pm when a numberless TATA DI with three ITBP personnel coming from Churachandpur towards Imphal with a load of planks veered off the road and fell into the roadside canal.

One of the troopers later identified as Patil Sunil Dhanaraj died on the spot while the other two, Brijkishore and Kamalkanta suffered injuries.

The injured personnel were first rushed to CHC Moirang, where they were provided first aid, and later referred to Imphal.

Moirang PS has registered a case in this regard.
