Fire disasters averted in Jiribam, Chandel

Imphal, March 04 2025:
A HYVA truck belonging to Apex Company caught fire after accidental contact with a droopy high-tension (HT) wire around 4:38 pm Tuesday.
However, swift intervention by firemen of Jiribam Fire Sub-Station prevented collateral damage of truck.
According to a statement from the Manipur Fire Services Imphal Control Room, the HYVA truck (AS09BC/0855) transporting sand along the Jiribam Road in Leingangpokpi area, accidentally contacted the HT wire, igniting a fire.
The Jiribam Fire Service team responded promptly and averted a major disaster.
The statement also reported that around 1:40 pm Tuesday, a fire broke out at the electrical panel room of M/S Energy Station (Oil Pump).
A team from the Jiribam Fire Sub-Station, led by sub-officer Ch Ranjitkumar, quickly intervened and doused the fire.
In another incident, Sugnu Fire Service team, along with forest guards, Sugnu police and AR personnel, took swift action in extinguishing a forest fire that broke out on Khongnang Paisabi Hill in Chandel district around 11:15 am Tuesday, the release added.
