Man missing after falling into Naga River

Imphal, June 03 2024: Rescue operations are underway to trace a man who fell into the Naga River near Khoyathong Deep's Fry Chicken Shop under Imphal Police Station on Saturday.

The missing man has been identified as Mayarngam Shinglai (39) s/o Selson Shinglai of Kasom Khullen, presently residing at Mission Lane, New Checkon.

According to the report filed by Mayarngam's elder brother Rippon Shinglai at Imphal PS on Sunday, Mayarngam left home around 5pm Saturday.

Sometime later, the family was informed that he (Mayarngam) had fallen into the Naga River near Khoyathong Deep's Fry Chicken Shop.

As such, teams of Imphal West District Police, SDRF and Manipur Fire Service launched a search and rescue operation to find Mayarngam.
