Imphal, May 03 2025: General Bahrain Sougaijam Foundation observed the 136th death anniversary of General Bahram Sougaijam at Moirangkhom Sougaijam ground on Friday.

The observance was attended by Manipur Legislative Assembly speaker and Yaiskul MLA Thokchom Satyabrata as chief guest, General Bahram Sougaijam Foundation working president Th Samson as president and retired Prof N Joykumar, social scientists Dr Dhanabir Laishram and advocate Dr Chongtham Narendra as guests of honour.

Responding to queries on the sidelines of the observance regarding the proposal by 21 MLAs to the PM and the union home minister to withdraw the President's Rule from the state, Satyabrata said that as he is currently the speaker of the Assembly, he has not much involvement on matters related to formation of a new government.

However, he expressed belief that a new government is possible after the centre reviews the overall situation in the state.
