Rotary Club celebrates, honours teachers

The Rotary Club of Imphal (RID-3240) celebrated its 52nd club foundation day at Rotary Bhavan, Mantripukhri, here, on Thursday, with a special event honouring 15 school teachers for their dedication to education.
As part of the TEACH programme under Rotary India Literacy Mission, the educators were presented with the Nation Builder Award in recognition of their commitment to nurturing the young minds.
According to a statement of the club, the award recipients for 2024 included Chingsubam Taibangnganba & Anita Langoljam of Porompat Sabal Leikai High School; Oinam Jamuna & Thokchom Sarita of Heirangoithong High School; Maisnam Langam & Naorem Bimol of Kongpal Imphal Morning High School; RK Ella & Md Firoz Khan of Minuthong Faizia High Madrassa; Khuman Chanu Kangjam Sonibala & Rajkumari Umadini of Sagolband Popular Upper Primary School; Haorongbam Bejurani & Thangjam Lakshmipriya of Laijing Ningthou Govt Junior High School; Laikhuram Rupachandra of Rahmania High School; and Pupul Heikrujam & Kumdamleima Konjengbam of Keishamthong High School.
As chief guest of the programme, education (S) director Laishram Nandakumar congratulated the awardees and commended the Rotary Club of Imphal for its efforts in motivating the educators.
Nandakumar assured the club of the department's continued support in advancing educational initiatives across the state.
Rotary Club of Imphal president Phijam Saratchandra, Zone XII assistant governor Devkumar Thoudam, CLCC W Rabichandra, and RC Imphal secretary' Sanjay Das also attended as presidium members.
Other participants included officials of ZEO Zone I & II, school headmasters, students, and members of the club, the statement added.
