Monsang Maga mourns leader's demise

Monsang community observed mourning by lowering the Monsang Naga flag to half-mast in honour of Monsang Tribe Union (Sirti Upa Ruh - SUR) former president and chairman of Monsang Naga Chiefs' Association (Sirti Eruwng Ruh - SER), Ts Ngamtin Monsang, who passed away on Monday.
The memorial service held at Ng Mono Monsang memorial hall in Japhou, Chandel district, was attended by leaders of SUR, SER, STS, and SSR, along with community members vho gathered to pay their respects and offer prayers for the departed leader.
The gathering remembered Ts Ngamtin, also the chief of Liwa Sarei village, as a revered leader within the Monsang Naga community, known for his dedication and contributions.
His demise marked a profound loss for the Monsang Naga people, and the community leaders expressed their deep sorrow and extended heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones.
In view of the leader's demise, the 6th Sirti Thamna Ennii (Monsang Day of Prayer) 2024, which was scheduled for Tuesday at Liwa Sarei village community hall, has been postponed by an executive decision of SUR, informed its president Ng Benithan Monsang.
