Kamjong holds Nasha Mukt Volleyball tourney

In an effort to raise awareness about substance abuse among the youngsters, Kamjong district administration in collaboration with Tangkhul Aze Katamnao Long (TAKL), organised a one-day volleyball tournament at Ramrei village in Kamjong district.
The sporting event held as part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan initiative, aimed to engage the community under the theme 'Healthy Choices Brighter Tomorrow'.
Eight teams representing various villages within the TAKL jurisdiction participated in the tournament, which commenced with an opening prayer delivered by Lamlai Khunou village pastor reverend Ramthar Awungshi.
In his welcome address, TAKL president Yarchuiso Kashung highlighted a brief overview of the significance of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyain campaign and its importance in promoting a drug-free society.
As part of the event, a walkathon and poster campaign was also organised, during which more than 200 young participants pledged their commitment to help the district become free from drugs.
The event saw attendance from notable figures, including joint education secretary Worchon Hungyo, and education secretary Rinsem, as well as other TAKL office bearers and youth representatives from surrounding villages.
