Imphal, February 22 2025:
All Manipur Recognised Private Schools' Welfare Association (AMRPSWA), Imphal has expressed its regret over the unfortunate incidents that occurred during the HSLC examination 2025, which, it said, have tarnished the reputation of the examination.
In a statement, AMRPSWA president L Joy Khuman noted that an excessive and toxic form of care and love for students by both parents and school authorities is responsible for these unfortunate incidents.
To ensure smooth conduct of the examination, Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BoSEM) deployed observers and inspection teams at examination centres, he explained, adding that the teams are not sent to disturb the tranquillity of the examination and the students.
However, some parents and school authorities mistook the observers and inspection teams as individuals intent on disturbing the examination and expelling students, he rued.
While condemning the harassment on ob servers and inspection team including life attempts on them, L Joy Khuman appealed to authorities concerned to impose exemplary punishment according to the law so that such incidents do not recur.
He also lauded Director of Education (S) for issuing notification to address the issue of schools that are neither recognised by the government nor affiliated.
