Basic Fire & Life Safety training begins

The third batch of the five-day basic fire and life safety training programme commenced at the Manipur Fire Service headquarters, here, on Monday.
The inaugural session of the training was held with joint secretary (Home) Mayengbam Vero Singh, Manipur Fires Service director Laishram Nabachandra and senior finance officer Th Samson as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
Speaking at the event, Nabachandra informed that Manipur Fire Service has been conducting training on disaster response, including fire outbreaks and floods, at various educational institutions and healthcare centres across the state.
He said that the five-day training programme is part of the initiative.
The function attended by representatives from several schools, colleges and hospitals, featured personnel of fire prevention wing demonstrating rescue equipment.
