Senapati, March 21 2025:
NSCN-IM chairman Q Tuccu has said that NSCN-IM should not be blamed for delaying the Naga political solution but instead to be blamed the Govemment of India for the delay.
Observing the 46th Naga Republic Day today at Camp Hebron near Dimapur in Nagaland State, NSCN-IM chairman Q Tuccu, in his speech on the occasion said, "It is ironic that NSCN is being blamed for delaying the Naga political solution.
But the truth in delaying the Naga solution lies with India and it makes no political sense crying foul against NSCN" .
According to the NSCN-IM chairman, for more than 27 years when Indo-Naga political talks started, India has gone deep into playing divisive politics to keep the Nagas divided on factional lines.
"The truth is, India wants to lessen the weight of NSCN in the negotiation table for a Naga political solution", Q Tuccu alleged in his speech, which was made available to Newmai News Network this afternoon by the "ministry of information and publicity (MIP), NSCN-IM.
He added by saying, "For this very purpose Naga National Political Group (NNPG) was created to counterweight the NSCN's (NSCN-IM) prized possession, Framework Agreement of August 3, 2015, using the Agreed Position of NNPG.
India wants to confuse the Nagas through the Agreed Position", he accused the Government of India.
Stating that Nagas' "sovereign wealth" are petroleum, coal, chromites , limestone, coal, nickel, cobalt etc.
He said that these critical minerals played an important role for industrial development, including defence.
"For quite a long period the Government of India has been casting covetous eyes to explore our natural wealth, mainly petroleum but under no circumstances should we allow our mineral wealth to be exploited by our aggressor when they refused to respect the political rights of the Naga people.
You must have been aware of the new attempt made by the Government of India to intrude into our sovereign ownership rights in Mokokchung district to explore, drill oil and extract petroleum.
India is simply testing our nerves without respecting our history and culture.
By our Naga culture we are possessive of our God given wealth with strong attachment to our national identity that provides a sense of legacy and pride as God's chosen people," Tuccu added.
The stand taken by the Ao Naga community is an exemplary manner of asserting the Naga national identity and they have courageously given the statement against exploration of petroleum in the land that belongs to them and not to the Indian government, he pointed out.
Meanwhile, Th Muivah on Thursday assured the Naga people that the "final political agreement shall be a negotiated political settlement in accordance with the letter and spirit of the Amsterdam Joint communique of July 11, 2002 and the Framework agreement of August 3, 2015".Muivah also proclaimed that the NSCN on behalf of Nagalim and the Naga people will not surrender their unique history and sovereignty neither at the battlefield or at the negotiating table.
The "thanksgiving speech", of Th Muivah, general secretary of the NSCN-IM, on the occasion of re-affirmation and declaration of the 'NSCN/GPRN' (NSCN-IM) Collective Leadership, was made available to Newmai News Network on Thursday by the 'ministry of information and publicity' (MIP), NSCN-IM.
Muivah also said that he was deeply indebted to the Naga people, including the Naga tribes and all the civil societies, wherever they are, and the international community who supports the Nagalim national independence and liberation movement.
