Imphal, August 18 2024: A team of Imphal West district police commando arrested three cadres of the armed Kangleipak Communist Party (Nongdrenkhomba) from near Hiyangthang Khori Arcade under Wangoi police station on Saturday.

The arrested trio has been identified as Sanju Wahengbam alias Lemba (20) s/o (L) Sanjoy Singh of Mahabali, Palace Compound; Soibam Manoj Singh alias Ngouba (27) s/o Narakishwor Singh of Ningombam Awang Leikai; and Soibam Lanchenba Meitei (24) s/o Dalendrajit Meitei of Ningombam Lai Haraopham Awang Leikai.

According to a police report, the team arrested the trio during frisking-checking operation carried out in front of Hiyangthang Khori Arcade on Saturday around 8.30 am .

The team seized Rs 50,000 in cash, three mobile handsets and one white Hyundai Venue from the three, who along with the items recovered have been handed over to Wangoi PS for further legal action.
