Rojita urges support to IDPs in memo to President, PM

Naorem ongbi Irengbam Rojita Devi has informed that she has submitted a 20-point memorandum to the President, Prime Minister, union home minister, defence minister, human resource minister, NALSA and others, requesting necessary initiatives and welfare for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).
On Thursday, Rojita was accorded a warm welcome by representatives of different relief camps, Uripok Apunba Lup and Uripok Nupi Apunba Lup upon her arrival at Imphal Airport from Delhi.
Later, she spoke to newspersons at Manipur Press Club where she conveyed that she had submitted a 20-point memorandum to fhe President, PM, union home minister and others, requesting for taking up various initiatives and welfare programmes for IDPs.
In this regard, NALSA's member secretary has given a positive response, she informed, and expressed firm hope that it would take the major responsibility in implementing the demands contained in the memorandum.
The 20-point memorandum included demands such as resettlement of IDPs, employment schemes and extension of age relaxation by at least two years, allowance for students, travel concessions, entrepreneurship schemes, voter registration, political representation opportunity and new UID-based IDP cards, among others.
