AR observes World Organ Donation Day, reaches out to Orphanage

Imphal, August 16 2024: Assam Rifles organised a lecture and a friendly volleyball match for local youth at Sendra village, Bishnupur district on Tuesday, to commemorate World Organ Donation Day.

In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that the event commenced with an informative lecture on the significance of World Organ Donation Day, highlighting the critical need for organ donors and how organ donation can save lives.

After the lecture, a friendly volleyball match was organised, bringing together players from the neighbouring villages.

The match was not only an effort to promote a healthy and active lifestyle among the youth but also served as a platform to identify and encourage local talent to consider joining the AR, it added.

Assam Rifles distributed relief materials to Preach Heritage Orphanage at Chakpikarong, Chandel district on the occasion of 78th Independence Day on Thursday.

According to PRO IGAR (S), relief materials were distributed to the children of the orphanage, which also provides shelter to the victims of the conflict.

A wide range of necessities including food items, medical items, clothing, sanitary pads, toiletry items and other vital commodities were procured and distributed to the kids, the PRO informed in a release.
